The Sox just completed their last extended west coast swing of the season... Ok it wasn't much of a west coast swing, but given our record at Oakland the last three seasons(2-16) I think we breathe a sigh of relief every time we make it back home.
The Sox were able to salvage a decent road trip by stomping Cleveland twice, shutting them out in both games. This marked the second time this season the Sox have blanked the highest scoring team in baseball on back-to-back nights (they did it earlier in the year at home when Texas was the highest scoring team in baseball). They came home from the trip 4-4, which is great considering their start.
They now have the next 20 games versus AL Central opponents, and face Detroit 19 times over the rest of the season. They played 92 games without seeing Detroit
, a division foe.
I'm running out the door on vacation in a few minutes, so I don't expect to be updating too much between now and the deadline. I will be checking in as often as possible, and will check the E-mail daily. Drop me a line if there's any juicy rumors floating around out there, as I won't have time to read up on all the speculation.
p.s. Jay Mariotti is a douchebag
