Apparently, Darrin Jackson
isn't a reader of this blog. Here's what he said when Timo Perez stepped to the plate in the 9th inning of tonight's game
"One things for sure, there's no doubt about it, Timo Perez is good."
He followed that quote by emphasizing how good Timo has been on the year as a pinch-hitter, not realizing that 1)Timo is not good as a pinch hitter and 2)there was a graphic listed on the bottom of the screen illustrating #1. Timo was 3-23 as a pinch hitter entering the night. In his defense, he did get a hit. Unfortunately for me, he probably further cemented in the organization's mind that he is "good."
I caught a little bit of Ozzie's post-game press conference after the game. He was asked about Damaso Marte, who gave up a 2-run home run in the 7th. Ozzie's reply was comical. The exchange went something like this.
Reporter: (inaudible question)
Ozzie: No, It's not Shingo's fault. It's the guy's in the middle. We gave them a lead.
Reporter: What's wrong with Damaso?
Ozzie: I don't know. I don't wanna know.
That is first rate comedy right there.
