Game 1: Johan vs. Freddy. Nothing to complain about here. Santana is the best pitcher in baseball this season. Give him a little room to work with and it's game over. -- Actually I can complain about this game -- Career minor leaguer Jamie Burke hitting 5th. They didn't plunk Torii Hunter enough times. And the lone appearance of the hitless Wilson Valez was at second base.
Game 2: Buehrle vs. Silva -- Buehrle pwns the Twins. Silva had been torched by the Sox this season. Silva has a weak .310 BAA. Result? Silva allows one hit before he leaves after taking a hot shot off the leg from Joe Crede. Oh and Mark Buehrle, 'allowed the big inning' and 'failed to pitch over mistakes', yet I didn't hear any of that from the two announcers working the booth. They were too busy praising Timo Perez for that lone hit against Silva, which came with two outs, and given Timo's relative sloth, was not converted into an RBI opportunity.
Game 3: Lohse vs. Garland -- Battle of the red-head-step-children. Both are having "bad years", and are whipping boys of their respective pitching staffs. Result? Lohse goes seven, yielding only one run. Garland is Garland, and we hear about it in between stroking Timo's love-bone once again from Hawk and DJ.
In case you watched all three games and are actually starting to buy into Hawk and DJ's continuous fawning over the uber-lovable Timo Perez. Timo is 1-11 in the last for games, in which the Sox have scored a combined 5 runs. That lone hit was a two-out bunt single.
Again I ask the question, What is the fascination with this guy?
